The notified product poses a risk of electric shock when it is being cleaned. (The preconditions for fatal electric shock are: 1. The aquarium light is plugged into the mains and the two-pole cord switch is in the on position. 2. The aquarium cover falls into the water during cleaning and the user reaches into the water).The appliance failed the test for water ingress. In addition, warnings and indications required by the standard are missing, cross-sectional area of the supply cord and the cord grip are inadequate. The notified product does not comply with the LVD Directive and the relevant European Standards.One incident reported:According to an anonymous report from a consumer, the aquarium cover with the lighting unit fell into the water during maintenance work. This gave rise to a minor electric shock. When the cover was later retrieved, the neon tube holder had become detached.
