The clip on the front left wheel balance weight may chafe against the brake hose, ABS sensor or brake pad wear sensor. If any of these situations occurs, the driver will have to press down further on the brake pedal, increasing the braking distance and the brake failure warning light or brake pad wear warning light on the dashboard will come on. If braking effectiveness is reduced, this could cause road accidents, irrespective of whether the driver is alerted by the brake failure warning light or brake pad wear sensor light
