The product package contains a detachable syringe type hollow needle to screw into the end of a plunger action pump, its function being to penetrate the yo-yo ball within the thicker cord end to inflate the ball with air. Locating the syringe into the yo-yo ball requires care as it needs to be pushed firmly through the thickest part of the ball and can easily plunge through the other side and into fingers. The syringe needle can be regarded as a sharp point within the meaning of standard EN 71-1 and it presents an unreasonable risk of injury for children taking into account the foreseeable use of the toy. The product does not comply with the Toys Directive and the relevant European standard EN 71-1.
