The concentration of thioglycolic acid of the product, as it is mentioned in the formula in the Safety Data Sheet that manufacturer provided, is significantly higher (24%) than the maximum authorized concentration in cosmetic products (8% for hair waving or straightening products for general use by consumers or 2% for other hair care products, as is the case of this product). This may cause injuries when applied on the scalp. One sample of the product was tested according to iodometric Directive 83/514/EEC method and found to contain 13.2% thioglycolic acid.In addition, this product does not contain the following data: - the warning “contains thioglycolate”, - the telephone number of National Poisons Centre, and - the expiry date.One incident where the user experienced a total hair loss has been reported.
