null The fixing bolt of the steering wheel may initially have been insufficiently tightened. The tightening torque of the fixing bolt may deteriorate over time as the steering wheel boss material is susceptible to temperature changes that may cause a loss of axial tension, resulting in excessive play in the steering wheel. If the vehicle continues to be driven in this condition over a long period of time, then the steering joint may become damaged eventually leading to steering wheel free rotation.
