It was found that the instructions with regard to the reassembly of the product could result in the product being reassembled incorrectly. If seat is reassembled incorrectly then this is likely to result in serious injury if the vehicle is involved in an accident.- The text size is far too small to be easily read and understood. It is approximately 5pt and should be closer to 7.5pt as a minimum.- There are no airbag warning icons.- There is no annotated diagram identifying the parts and features of the child seat. - There is no diagram of a 3-point lap and diagonal belt – a crucial factor in clarifying what the consumer needs to know. - Forward facing and rearward facing car seat instructions should show the car seat’s safety belt in colour – red for forward facing and blue for rearward facing. These instructions do not show the distinction.- The ‘Adjusting the harness height to the child’s shoulder height’ section is not explicit enough, leaving a lot for consumers to work out for themselves.- There is no advice regarding the position of chest pads when forward facing and when rearward facing (which tend to be different). Chest pads are a safety feature. - Tightening a seat belt across a child seat of this design requires the slack being removed in two to three different places – before the ‘lock-off can be applied. This instruction only shows one position. - The airbag warning can be found at the bottom of this column set aside from the rest of the ‘Recommendations’. Ideally it should appear first with a warning symbol and universal airbag warning icon to ensure it isn’t overlooked. Accident – During the accident, child was only properly restrained on one side due to the incorrect reassembly of chair and subsequent failure of a part of the chair.
