The product poses a chemical risk because it contains acetophenone at a level of 740 + 93 mg/ kg of plastic and 2-phenyl-2-propanol at a level of 1723 + 45 mg/kg of plastic as volatile substances in the plastic. Both these substances are classified as injurious to health by the BfR. They may induce allergic reactions and they cause dermatitis in the event of prolonged contact with the skin. Inhalation of the fumes may give rise to headaches or nausea and in concentrated form may have a quasi-narcotic effect and cause poisoning.
